Commercial Manager

Full Time

We are currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager for a specialist provider of facility and property related services based in Woolston. This will be offering the starting salary of up to £35,000, free parking and immediate start.

About The Role:

  • Overall responsibility for the efficient running of the Commercial department
  • Ensuring Work In Progress is minimised
  • Submitting Customer Payment Applications within required deadlines
  • Dealing with invoicing queries
  • Ensuring that time-sheeting is carried out accurately to meet Payroll deadlines
  • Preparing detailed WIP reports and chairing meetings with Senior Operations Managers
  • Working with the Operations Director and Group Finance team with regards to annual budgets
  • Overall responsibility for Cost Transfers and Late Costs
  • Working with the Labour Controllers to ensure that jobs are closed down
  • Ensuring that margins are reviewed where necessary
  • Reviewing monthly Management Accounts
  • Monitoring and reporting on all WIP
  • Building healthy relationships with customers
  • Assisting Operations in all monthly reporting
  • Planning throughout the month to ensure steady workflows to achieve targets

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a commercial manager or financial manager role
  • Experience in working within a manufacturing company is ideal but not essential
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office packages especially Excel
  • Good commercial acumen is essential
  • Numerical aptitude is essential – a background in finance, accountancy or costing would be very interesting
  • General understanding of the service industry
  • Smart appearance is essential
