More About the Depot Manager Role:

As our Depot manager you will be responsible for the operational performance and efficiency of a high performance team at our new Heywood depot. A 24 hour operation on site means that you will work closely with your Shift Supervisors on both days and nights to deliver excellence with customers being your key focus.

Here’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing As Our Depot Manager:

As our Outbase Manager you will play an integral part in ensuring excellent customer service is delivered to each and every one of our customers while setting and maintaining standards from operational policies, transport legislation, health & safety and people management.

You will;

Ensure that our depot remains legal and compliant through transport legislation and operational requirements.

Maintain efficiency through people management and setting performance expectations

Be responsible for the crews of Self Employed Drivers working from your site, manage their expectations and address any challenges whilst working closely with your Driver Account Manager

Effectively delegate and supervise daily tasks, maintain accountability for any issues or escalations

Produce, update and submit regular reports to the District / Regional Management team & Head Office

Motivate and support the wellbeing and development of all direct/indirect reports

Execute HR processes & procedures in a fair and consistent way including investigations, grievances, disciplinary meetings, performance management and appraisals.

Management of the commercial budget for the depot including cost to deliver


You will be able to work under pressure and be driven to deliver objectives in a professional manner whilst supporting the wellbeing/development of your team to ensure maximum motivation and productivity is at its maximum.

You will have excellent logistics knowledge including transport legislation

Demonstrate an understanding of the home delivery sector

Experience in leading and motivating your team

Knowledge or understanding of HR issues and managing performance

Experience of working to tight deadlines and meeting targets

Experience of working to KPI’s and budgets

Understanding of working in an environment with daily changing workloads

Confident with a fair and consistent approach to people management


Able to produce management reports

PC literate including warehouse software and Microsoft Packages

CPC Holder
