As the business continues to grow, we are now seeking an additional colleague to join the effluent treatment plant (ETP) team who will be responsible for ensuring that the plant works to its maximum efficiency and within the consent levels set by Seven Trent.

If you have an interest in the environmental impact of waste water, have a good problem solving mindset and can work with a minimal level of supervision, this could be the opportunity for you.

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
* To carry out regular cleaning of the effluent treatment plant and associated equipment
* Carry out regular testing of effluent discharge water to ensure discharge limits are within consent levels as per ETP operating Guide
* Carry out all the basic maintenance in the ETP (training will be given) and assist the Engineering team with maintenance and repairs when possible
* Assist the Environmental Manager to ensure Environmental site compliance and ensure all environmental tasks for the plant are complied with.
* Ensuring chemical level are kept topped up and transporting chemicals across site
* Keeping track of stock levels of equipment and parts
* A good focus on Continuous improvement of ETP
* Ability to make considered decisions on running of the ETP in what can be a very reactive way, escalating any issues arising, to members of ETP management team
* Health and Safety driven mindset as working alongside chemicals
* Data logging and communication through site PMS system
* Ability to maintain 5’s standards in ETP area

Hours of work:
* 12hrs shifts 4 on 4 off
* Flexibility if business needs warrant it

To be successful in this role, you will need:
* To be self-motivated and able to work using own initiative with minimum supervision
* Good communication and interpersonal skills, being competent in dealing with internal and external customers
* To be able to work in a professional manner and be responsive to the needs of the business embracing a can do, will do attitude
* To be able to produce quality work with an eye for detail
* Have the ability to react quickly and effectively
* A good level of written and oral English
* IT skills to include MS Word, Excel and Outlook
* Any engineering or environmental background is a plus but not required
* Knowledge of proper pipette and microscope usage preferred
