We are currently recruiting for a Generalist Facilities Officer for our well-established client based in South Kent, this is a full time and permanent position.

The successful candidate will support the Facilities Manager to manage and secure practical, pragmatic solutions to a range of premises and health and safety issues which are timely, effective, and bound by budgets.

Duties include;

Regular inspections and maintenance checks of the premises and grounds reporting any damage/ deterioration or general wear and tear, ensuring you comply with regulation and legislation in terms of Health and Safety and good/best practice standards.
Procure fixtures and fittings for all offices, premises as required to meet all obligations as an employer and accommodation provider.
Overseeing the mini fleet of pool vehicles by undertaking weekly checks for road worthiness and cleanliness, monitoring mileage, service schedules and the reporting of defects and inducting new drivers on the policy and use of the vehicles.
Maintain records of energy usage, waste costs in line with our targeted reductions in carbon emissions.
To fully comply with all health and safety requirements, and record risk assessments advising the relevant manager/department on when these are due for review and/or update.
Maintain records of statutory compliance checks such as fire equipment, fire alarms and portable appliance testing.
Document accidents and near misses and working with those involved and their managers to take necessary steps to prevent a recurrence.
Provide support to managers in the provision of DSE self-assessments.
Work closely with HR to ensure that all staff training is compliant with the law/regulation as required.

The successful candidate will be/ have;

Previous experience working within Facilities
A driver’s License – you will be expected to travel on occasions
A strong all-round knowledge of DIY
Excellent communication skills
Physically fit; lifting and moving large and heavy objects
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Flexibility of working hours and the ability to work overtime as and when required
A good understanding of the English language for taking and giving important instructions
Hold a valid, full current 10-year British passport; full EU passport or have indefinite leave to remain in the UK
Provide full employment history for previous 3 years and or suitable documentation to cover any gaps
