Finance Administrator (Agriculture)

Situated at our Malton head office, this is a new role due to business growth. The post-holder will be responsible for the financial administrative functions relating to Karro’s rearing and finishing farms, which supply Karro-owned pigs. The role will involve collating data to required deadlines and providing information in a timely manner to ensure the smooth organisation of pig movements across the business.

Key responsibilities:

  • Ensuring that the farm stock sheets are maintained for each farm and that relevant information is supplied, to deadline, to the Finance Manager every week
  • Working closely with the General Manager for Pig Finishing to plan the flow of pigs from weaning through to finishing
  • Ensuring vendor forms are completed for new farms and sent to the Finance Manager for appropriate sign-off
  • Collating feed orders from all farms and place with relevant feed suppliers (with purchase order)
  • Ensuring a Pig Finisher forecast is supplied to Head office, to deadline, every week
  • Supplying the Finance Manager with the information required to complete the weekly reporting pack
  • Ensuring all information relevant to farm sales invoicing must be reported to the Finance Manager as soon as is reasonably practicable
  • Ensuring all relevant information is kept up to date and available on the server for management and relevant interested parties to access at any time
  • Undertaking any additional tasks and responsibilities that may be required by the General Manager for Pig Finishing

Essential experience:

  • MS Office experience
  • Intermediate excel skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Good team working skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work under own initiative
  • Determined and resilient, with the drive to complete tasks

Preferred experience:

  • Co-ordination of logistics in a multi-site operation
  • A background in agriculture and good farming practice
  • Previous experience working with livestock
