Requirements

You + The Challenge

If you’ve got 1 – 3 post-qualified experience as an In-house counsel working in telecommunications, then you’ve had your fair share of time to know what it takes to do your job, but even better if you’ve gotten a bit of knowledge regarding IT related agreements and services for this specific role. You will know about reviewing and drafting non-disclosure agreements, commercial and IT outsourcing contracts.

A bit about your daily duties should look pretty familiar to what you’ve been exposed to before – so you’ll catch on pretty quickly. Besides the usual handling of and preparing ad-hoc legal paperwork, independently connected with your team, you’ll manage regulatory support and advice to products and service teams. You’ve got so much support and guidance to work with coming into our Legal team. You’ll be trusted to,

Advise on UK, EU and USA communications and telecoms law and regulatory changes and implications.
Experience with legal/regulatory compliance activities, ideally experience with national communications law in the UK, EU and USA (e.g., Ofcom in the UK).
And be responsible for regulatory risk management.
As well as have experience and knowledge of the relevant areas of law including data protection and IPR. We’re going to need your legal knowledge on data protection, IPR matters, technology related business and commercial contracts in business development, product commercialisation and/or procurement. You’ll be leading the way and we’ll put our trust in you to do it.

It’s a fast-paced environment, meaning, you’ll never be bored, and we’ll never run out of challenges for you. Recently we’ve had a project (Project Opus) which kept our legal team on their toes closing off 2021 – are you up for that kind of environment? If you’ve read this far, we know you are.

You’ve got a great team by your side, so you’ll be communicating quite a bit, as team players do. But that’s not all, your legal rigour and good practice with commercial sensibility will come in handy when enforcing internal legal process and structure. If you like working independently, too – we encourage an environment that speaks to being lively and entrepreneurial – you will be left to do your part as we know you will.
