Operations Manager

Full Time

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Operations Manager to join our nationwide operations team. You will join us working 35 hours per week and in return you will receive a competitive salary of up to £43,527.27 per annum plus excellent benefits.

This role will be home based in Scotland and will take on shared responsibility for the day to day safe and effective operation and governance of our network of 35 centres and nearly 200 volunteer led branches across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. You will remotely lead a team of managers, some with responsibility for adoption centres and some managing the development of our volunteer-led branches across Scotland.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading feline welfare charity with a nationwide network of adoption and homing centres, volunteer-run branches and charity shops. During 2020, despite all of the challenges, we helped 126,000 cats and kittens. That’s the equivalent of around 345 cats a day!

The Operations Department is at the heart of all our cat-related activities and is responsible for ensuring that we help as many cats as possible. We are unique, in that we deliver our work through a combination of centres primarily run by our employees with volunteers support, and volunteer-led branches. The role of the Operations Directorate is not only to support our employees and volunteers in everything that they do but also to deliver the charity’s strategic objectives and identify opportunities for further growth.

Responsibilities of our Operations Manager:

As an Operations Manager you will be responsible for planning, financial oversight, delivery and development of operational plans and objectives across field based branches and centres ensuring that they are aligned to the national strategy and its growth objectives. Review teams plans to ensure consistency and effectiveness. You will ensure high standards of cat welfare through branches and centres. Monitor and evaluate adherence to CP policies and procedure. Liaise closely with the Cat Welfare Manager in regard a welfare plan for their branches and remedial action where any immediate risk is identified. You will be an ambassador for Cats Protection, raising the profile, through an increased presence, with a view to increasing the public understanding of Cats Protection and its work

significant management experience

proven Project management experience

excellent interpersonal skills and experience of engaging and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders

proven experience of managing investigations, appeals and conflict resolution

proficient IT skills, including all aspects of Microsoft Office
