About the role

Interim Executives have been retained exclusively by a public sector client to urgently source and engage a Property and Development Consultant for a 12-month rolling contract. This role can be delivered remotely, with occasional visits to site and corporate offices to present to a board.

Background

My client has identified a gap in capability and immediately needs to resource a suitable interim to support a high-risk, high-profile, and politically sensitive scheme. Having been given notice by their current landlord, my client are needing to make urgent plans to relocate a key property asset to a new location. On top of this, there are other priotities to be delivered during this contract, including a refurbishment and modernisation programme. This is a multi-faceted role requiring a full range of skills and capabilities. The focus on expertise will be around delivery of medium-sized public sector development schemes, large refurbishment programmes and strategic property consultancy experience. This role sits outside of the existing structure of the property and facilities team and has no direct reports. The successfully appointed individual will set project milestones and key deliverables, which will be presented at interview stage upon receiving the full brief.

You will need to be

As an experienced Director within a public sector setting, you will have a strong background and track record in the delivery of civic, purpose-built training facilities or commercial office schemes. You will have ideally having worked at Director level in a local authority, blue light, charity or central government organisation, supporting £10m+ portfolio of construction, development or refurbishment projects. You will be experienced in both the front end (transition plans, business case and feasibility) and ‘back end’ delivery of construction, and asset management and handover.
