The role of Senior Project Engineer will have a broad involvement in the business’s manufacturing practices and work on specific projects along with mapping existing working methods and processes with a view to identify and implement improvements.

THE ROLE

*Introduction of lean manufacturing practices and techniques
*Process mapping and identifying improvements to existing systems.
*Engagement on projects linked to NPD activity and design of test environments.
*Project management of new initiatives introduced into the business.
*Promoting lean and quality as a focus within the business.
*Definition of design solutions using tools available, including 2D / 3D CAD.
*Act as a responsible manufacturing engineer for nominated programme and projects, with the ability to understand complex technical designs.
*Using formal technical processes such as Process Mapping, DFMEA, FEA PFMEA & Control Plan sessions and subsequent testing scenarios.
*Manage Pilot Build and Pre-Production trials & production support activity.
*Create process documentation, to include Assembly Methods, Work Instructions, Production Test requirements, Initial Production Assessments, and Control Plans.
*Develop & support new product and process training for the manufacturing facility and staff in line with current Engineering Standards.

THE CANDIDATE

*A degree in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline or specifically within Production engineering.
*Well versed in lean methodology with accreditation to this effect.
*Demonstrated knowledge of process mapping techniques.
*Experience working within businesses that have a focus on new product development.
*Experience in project management.
*Experience in equipment specification and capital justifications.
