Warehouse Charge Hand – Aylesford

Full Time

We require a Warehouse Charge Hand based at the Waitrose depot in Aylesford.

Mid-shift – 17:00pm to 02:30am hours and every other Saturday 15.00pm to 00.30am.

As Charge Hand you will be required to assist the Warehouse Management Team to achieve the company’s financial, operational and customer service objectives of the site.

Also to control the warehouse operations on a day to day basis, ensuring compliance with agreed standards and procedures. Provide an intermediary between customer service, transport and warehouse personnel with the aim of improving quality, cost and customer service performance.

Primary Responsibilities:

· To manage, maintain and improve on Lenham Storage Limited’s Quality, Food Safety and Health and Safety standards.

· Support in the completion of Daily/weekly/monthly reports.

· Provide support to ensure equipment has the relevant checks made and record maintained.

· Encourage and promote good safety and environmental behaviour within all employees and actively encourage.

· “Near Miss” & non-conformance reporting.

Duties but not limited to:

· Provide support with the leading and motivation of a team of warehouse operatives to ensure that the daily targets are met.

· Allocate the workload in line with the daily plan.

· The timely picking of orders in line with departure time and production needs.

· Coordinate the timely unloading of vehicles.

· Coordinate the loading of vehicles in line with the designated departure time.

· Provide support with the achievement of performance targets in line with company KPIs.

· Maintain communications with the warehouse management team and other teams operating on site as required.

· To promote harmonious and effective working relationships through a combination of communication, teamwork, motivation, leadership and team briefings.

· Ensure that the warehouse team work to the established SOP’s and SSOW.

· Take ownership of your area and maintain a drive for perfection and being proactive in looking for continuous improvements.

· Meet with customers and contribute to meetings.

· Competent systems user – WMS & MS Office
